My Cup of Tea
Discover this place
My Cup of Tea, a beloved cha chaan teng located in Wan Chai, exemplifies the essence of Hong Kong's fast-food culture. Known for its rich and refreshing Hong Kong Milk Tea, this tiny eatery often finds visitors queuing outside, eager to taste the delicious offerings crafted by the attentive owner himself.
Patrons frequently rave about the freshly prepared dishes, such as the Beef Satay and Scrambled Egg sandwich and beef brisket noodles. While some diners appreciate the traditional flavors, noting the sweet and fragrant marinade of the brisket, others find certain items like the pineapple bun falling short of expectations. The seating is limited and informal, creating a cozy yet cramped atmosphere that adds to the authentic experience.
Despite minor service quirks, the quality of food, particularly the renowned milk tea, earns consistent praise. Many reviews highlight the soothing sensation of a cold milk tea on a hot day, making it a refreshing must-try.
If you’re exploring Hong Kong, My Cup of Tea is undoubtedly a spot to immerse yourself in the city’s vibrant culinary scene.

Reviews for My Cup of Tea
Review highlights
Based on 871 reviewsMy Cup of Tea in Wan Chai is widely praised for its authentic and richly flavored Hong Kong-style milk tea, often regarded as a highlight and a must-try for visitors. The brand's signature dishes, including beef satay sandwiches and beef brisket noodles, receive positive mentions for freshness and traditional taste. However, common feedback points to the small and cramped dining space, with a somewhat disorderly ordering process that can detract from the overall experience. Service is generally described as limited but earnest. While some find the food quality consistent yet standard, the value for money and the unique charm of the tea-making process contribute to its popularity among locals and tourists alike.
One of my favorite cha chaan tengs from my short trip. cramped seating and negligible service, but as expected in Hong Kong. Food was great but the HK iced milk tea was rich, not too sweet, and refreshing on a hot summer day.
Had to queue at this tiny tea house in Wanchai. You are greeted by the owner at the entrance who is brewing the famous “Hong Kong Milk Tea,” himself. I ordered one milk tea and their signature “Beef Satay and Scrambled Egg sandwich.” Both were freshly prepared and delicious. This place is a MUST TRY when in Hong Kong.
Really cramped seating area and messy ordering system, but the staff seemed to be trying their best. We got the beef brisket noodles, pineapple bun with satay beef and milk tea. The milk tea was fantastic - very traditional, authentic and fragrant (potentially one of the best I've tasted in HK). The marinade of the beef brisket was very sweet and flavourful. Unfortunately we weren't super impressed by the pineapple bun.
Here’s a revised version of your text: --- This is a famous restaurant in Wan Chai, known for its exceptional milk tea. The owner has won numerous competitions for Cantonese milk tea. The restaurant is small, with tables that resemble shelves. The signature dishes are delightful, but the food would taste even better if served hotter. --- Let me know if you need any further adjustments!
We waited maybe less than 10 minutes for a table. We got to sit at the bar. We ordered a cold milk tea and a hot milk tea. We also got a char siu macaroni soup and a minced beef sandwich. Both were pretty standard. The cold milk tea is better than the hot milk tea. Would get it again as it wasn't too expensive
The shop was filled with a lovely scent of hong kong milk tea as I entered - Heavenly! Had the beef tomato soup vermicelli and it is good comfort food if you are craving for something soupy.
Hole-in-the-wall diner that manages to fit more people in than the laws of Physics allow. The triple egg sandwich is brilliant! The most perfectly brewed tea.
